I was always concerned about my fish while at work and wondered if I could monitor them remotely. My wife and a few friends helped out, and eventually we incorporated AI recognition software to identify individual fish by species.
We underwent numerous iterations in the design of the apparatus in order to ensure scalability for differing tank sizes. The original prototype was problematic and we opted for a v-plotter type configuration.
Our machine learning engineer used TensorFlow to recognize each fish and label by species.
